Minister of Electricity: The Runaki project has reduced electricity bills by 80% for four million subscribers

Kamal Mohammed Salih, Minister of Electricity said: Now in coordination with the team of the Prime Minister's Office, the 24-hour Runaki project is being implemented properly, with the increase in the speed of electricity customers to more than 1.95 million customers.


He added that 4,200 MW of electricity is currently produced and electricity production has been increased by 1,840 MW in this cabinet, this additional megawatt is not produced for free, but with the support of the Council of Ministers, workers, ministry employees which is natural gas has been done.


The minister also pointed out the stations where electricity production has been increased, they are as follows:


Bazian power plant, with a capacity of 750 MW


Khormala plant, with a capacity of 500 MW


Khabat Steam Plant, with a capacity of 300 MW


Garmian power plant, with a capacity of 165 MW


Dereluk power plant, with a capacity of 38 MW


Rehabilitation of Erbil, Sulaimani and Duhok power plants with a capacity of 87 MW


This is in addition to solving the technical problems of the two hydropower plants (Dukan and Darbandikhan) and amending the electricity contracts with investors.


The Minister of Electricity said that the most important thing was to protect the environment, which we were able to increase the level of electricity production with clean energy to more than 84%, natural gas to 83% and 1% hydropower existing.
